Back in 1979 i had a stan stephens bastard tuned kh400 with spanny's (pre cans) .
front wheel up in the first three gears without clutch aid  
me and the missus went for a ride to Matlock bath 170 mile round trip , it cost £23 in fuel
to get there & back (work that one out) i only earnt £50 a week
